Michelle
Stobart.
Yoga has been a part
of my daily life and inspiration since 1997. In 2003,
because of the delicious, connected, and peaceful
feeling I felt after each practice, I decided it selfish
to not share this with the world. So, I set out to
make it part of my life's work to teach others the
beauty and wonder that a living yoga practice has
brought me. I received my yoga training from teacher
and friend, Clayton Horton, at Greenpath Yoga in San
Francisco, CA. The more I practice and learn, the
more I realized that yoga is constantly opening me
in ways beyond just new flexibility and strength within
my body. It is my hope and aspiration to share the
experiences and benefits of my own living yoga practice
with as many people as I can. As I teach, I try to
help people open up to a greater joy and peace that
comes from within and an ease of living within their
own bodies comfortably. I incorporate the power and
beauty of nature in my teachings, leading people into
a way to draw energy from the Earth and live upon
it with a lighter footprint. I have spent the last
several years developing an open exploration of Vinyasa
as defined by many different teachers, Tripsichore
being my main influence. My workshops and classes,
through various traditional and non-traditional methods,
are designed to help people begin to connect to an
authenticity deep within, find their inner creativity
and flow, and learn to live their yoga not just on
the mat but in all aspects of life. .................

Liz
Rhodes.I Grew up
in Chicago, IL and moved to Amherst, MA to attend
the University of Massachusetts. I received my bachelor's
degree in psychology there in 2006. After spending
my senior year at UMass cultivating a love of philosophy,
in particular the philosophies of love and nonviolence
as articulated by Martin Luther King and Gandhi, I
moved on to begin work on a Masters in Philosophy
at Ohio University in Athens, OH. During my time in
Amherst I also began to explore my passions for food
and healthy, balanced living in general. Upon moving
to Athens and discovering Yoga, my exploration of
health, wellness, food and nature has become a lifestyle.
I have studied Yoga with Michelle for the past year,
and just recently received my certification to teach
through Michelle's 200-hr. Teacher Training program
at OU. My training was also guided by a number of
local teachers (Rebecca Wood, Linda Cochran) as well
as Edward Clark of Tripsichore Yoga and David Lurey,
a yogi based in San Francisco. I continue to find
inspiration through Michelle's practice and teaching
as well as through nature and the study of the 8 limb
path of Yoga. My lifestyle finds balance through work
as a cook at the Village Bakery and Pizza Della Zona,
both outstanding endeavors of sustainable, eco-friendly
business. I am due to begin holding a weekly community
yoga class at the Athens Library in March. Get in
touch via email at liz(at)ekaprana.com (you'll have
to turn it into a real email address) or my website

Amanda Sharrai.
I spent most of my years in Ann
Arbor, MI. Recently I found Athens, the hidden gem
of Ohio. I began my yoga career in 2001. Over the
past 8 years I have practiced many forms of yoga including:
Bikram, Anusara, Hatha, Karma, Bhakti and Iyengar.
In January 2008 I received my 200 level Yoga Alliance
Teacher Certification. I also have a bachelors degree
in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and
have extensive training in non-violent dialogue. Yoga
has brought a balance to my mind that wasnt
present before I began this journey. I feel as though
yoga has brought me to be more present in all that
I do. I hope that yoga will do for you what it has
for me, brought me to a whole new level of freedom..freedom
from the mind and body. All my classes are through
Inhale Yoga Studio, but to learn more about me, check
out my site www.athenshotyoga.com.
My other interests include: sustainable living, raw
food preparation and gardening.
Hope to see you in class! ........... Back

Akko
Chan.
I grew up near the ancient capitals of Japan, Nara and
Kyoto. Since
1998, I have traveled to over 30 countries in Asia,
Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa.
I have studied yoga, manipulative physical therapy,
Ayurveda, Thai traditional massage, pilates, martial
arts and meditation. In India, I studied Ashtanga
yoga with Sharath Jois, the director of the Ashtanga
Institute in Mysore and the grandson of Sri K. Pattabhi
Jois, the founder of Ashtanga Yoga. For 7 years, I
enjoyed teaching yoga to students, training yoga instructors
and also teaching yoga for nurses and doctors at a
medical facility in Japan. In 2007, I opened my own
yoga studio, Yoga Temples in Japan and have also held
yoga workshops in Guam, Egypt and Mongolia. In 2008,
I published my book Easy Yoga, First step
A Yoga Book For Beginners. In 2010, for my honeymoon,
I walked the 800+ km Camino de Santiago pilgrimage
in Spain. After finishing the pilgrimage, I moved
to Athens and started teaching yoga.
I
love teaching yoga and I believe it is my calling.

Melanie
Gorscak .
.. Born outside of Pittsburgh, I grew up in Southeastern
Ohio and attended OU. After getting my BA in History,
my nomadic lifestyle led me to Los Angeles. Here I
delved further into self-study, discovered Kundalini
yoga, and earned my certificate in Hi Yoga! Kids Yoga
with Kelly Wood at Karuna Yoga. In order to further
my knowledge of Kundalini, I went bi-coastal and relocated
to Brooklyn in 2010. I studied under the wonderful
Sat Jivans and Angad Kaur at Kundalini Yoga East and
completed my 200-hr level KRI/YA certification in
June. I enjoy and am constantly surprised at how the
different facets of Kundalini challenge and affect
each individual practitioner. I try to make my classes
inviting and fun so students can gain the most from
each Kundalini experience.

Megan Lobsinger.
I practiced yoga semi-regularly as a high school and
college student, and though I've always enjoyed the
physical benefits an asana practice offers, it's been
in the past four years as an Ohio University graduate
student that I've found yoga speaking to me on a more
global level. My practice in Athens began with Barbara
Rostad at WellWorks, and it deepened immensely as I
began to study with Michelle Stobart at Inhale Yoga
Studio. I recently completed Michelle's 200-hour teacher
training, and I feel tremendously blessed to be among
so many amazing teachers in this community. I will say
without embarrassment that I think most of the world's
problems would be solved if everyone devoted thoughtful
attention to the practice of yoga, and I feel privileged
to be able to share what I've learned with others. When
I'm not practicing, I'm studying creative writing at
OU.

Jennifer
Chung . I grew up in Virginia
Beach, VA, and have also lived in Philadelphia, PA
and Champaign, IL. In 2009, I moved to Athens to teach
courses in multicultural education for Ohio University.
I began my yoga practice in 2008 in Champaign, IL
at the BKS Iyengar Yoga Institute of Champaign Urbana.
I was introduced to a vinyasa practice at Inhale through
Michelle Stobart and Rachel (I can't remember her
last name--she taught the Ashtanga classes). The classes
at Inhale made me want to deepen my practice so I
committed to the 200 hour teacher certification program.
I completed the program in January 2011 and have continued
to learn through all the teachers at Inhale and local
teacher, Linda Cochran. Even though the beach is my
home, I am grateful for the turns in life that have
brought me to the gift of yoga in Athens.
