Sometimes known as Thai yoga massage, or traditional Thai massage, the technique brings together a series of interactive, assisted yoga postures and guided stretching, with gentle rocking and rhythmic acupressure to relieve joint and muscle tension. Palm and thumb pressure along the body's energy 'Sen' lines encourage a deepening of the breath, a free flow of energy, and a more balanced, meditative state. The practitioner assists a fully-clothed recipient into a series of yoga-inspired postures, creating a delightfully harmonious and therapeutic “dance.”

Thai massage helps increase awareness of your body, which often results in easier movement, improved posture and an understanding of injury prevention. Because it can release muscles deep in the body, it is often effective in reducing neck and shoulder pain, headaches and low back pain.

It helps all people recover from overly stimulated
and stress-filled living
and is often used to support athletes, dancers, yogis, climbers and others who are preparing for and recovering from various active life events.

Sessions are suitable for all body types and ages. Those under 18 need aguardian's permission before a session.

What you should know about your session.

  • Try not to eat anything heavy for about 1-2 hours before your scheduled session.
  • Arrive 5-10 minutes early to fill out your paper work and take time to rest before your session begins.
  • Be completely honest on your paper work with regard to injuries or ailments current and past.
  • Wear loose fitting clothes (i.e. workout type clothes, stretchy pants, sweat pants, t-shirt, etc.)
  • Drink plenty of water before and after a treatment to aid in releasing toxins from the body
  • Try not to schedule anything immediately after your session as you will need at least 1 hour to just be with what is happening in the body and mind after the session ends.

What people are saying about Thai Yoga Bodywork sessions.

"The Thai Yoga Bodywork session was amazing! I felt a bit nervous prior to the session due to my lack of yoga experience. Michelle did an excellent job at informing me of what was to come but left room for mystery as well. Overall the experience was unique, mind stimulating, relaxing and very fun. I feel like there is less weight in my step, my arm's are like feathers, my back feels strong and my mind at peace." -- BC, male

"The effect on my body remained for days and seemed to evolve. It was like having a quiet but very real energy hum in my body. I really felt the massage has made a difference managing the symptoms of mono." -- AB, female

"It was amazing. My body feels so relaxed, like a weight has been lifted." -- CS, female

"The session was phenominal and something I would definitely invest in again." -- DC, male

"Just wanted to say thank you. Never realized my legs were that messed up. Walked my 3 miles today and it was just so smooth. I know we've just had one session, but WOW! I was on the verge of giving up and just existing, now I feel there is hope. Your positive energy and kindness truly touched me." -- JD, male
